The AURA Laboratory is located in the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences (SCMS) at Auckland University of Technology (AUT).

RFID is a technology for auto-identification of objects, which does not require a line of sight. The lab works in many areas associated with RFID use including supply-chain, medical and disability applications, RFID security and RFID data management.

AURA has the capability to become involved in many consultancy and research projects outside our core interests, and enquiries from prospective industrial or academic partners are welcome.

Current Projects include:

Activity analysis from RFID data RFID use in operating theatres to reduce drug errors
RFID Activity visualisation and analysis RFID in the retail environment
RFID for ambient intelligence Assisted living and Goal managed training
Zespri gas pre-concentrator Plug and Play toolset for RFID readers
RFID and Laundry systems RFID to assist the visually impaired
NZ RFID Pathfinder survey Wavelet compression for RFID maps
